A new Anti-bacterial powder coating is now available. Anti-bacterial powder coatings provide an active biocidal system based on silver, which is effective against major strains of bacteria. This provides long term protection against bacterial growth and is shown to exhibit zero growth for fungi and moulds. The coating delivers a constant and controlled release of Silver ions which remain active for periods in excess of 10 years. The active Silver ions penetrate the bacteria cell walls disrupting the cell and inhibiting bacterial growth.
